BREAKING: Frenchman Paul Le Guen appointed new Super Eagles coach

The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has recommended Frenchman Paul Le Guen as the new head coach of the Nigeria’s senior national team.

The 52-year-old beat Belgian Tome Saintief who had already withdrawal from the race to join Bangladash and home-grown coach Salisu Yusuf to the Super Eagles top position.

Paul Bassey, spokesman of the tehnical committee, announced its recommendation of the expertraite as the new Eagles manager to the NFF executive board after their hours of deliberations at the NFF headquarters on Monday.

According to Bassey, Le Guen will be assisted by his closest challenger Salisu Yusuf, Imama Amapakabo and Alloy Agu to complete the new technical crew of the Super Eagles.

He explained that the chioce of Le Guen was based on his impressive track record as coach.

Upon the executive’s approval, the Frenchman will be faced with the immediate task of preparing the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match away to Zambia on October 3.

It also recommended the appointment of one–time Super Eagles’ assistant coach Bitrus Bewarang as the new NFF Technical Director, replacing late Coach Shaibu Amodu.
