Fubara Dismisses PDP Caretaker Committee List

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has strongly dismissed a list circulating on social media, claiming to be the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee. During the inauguration ceremony for the construction of the Port Harcourt International Automobile Spare Parts Trading and Commercial Centre, Governor Fubara urged the public to disregard the list, labeling it as fabricated and lacking credibility.

Governor Fubara emphasized that the list holds no merit and should not be given any consideration. He clarified that the agreement reached, not only in Rivers State but also in other affected states, was to extend the tenure of the existing executives for three months. The extension does not introduce any new changes and does not authorize the executives to function independently of the governor’s authority. Consequently, the governor assured that the lists being circulated and any alterations made to them will not hold any weight.

Furthermore, Governor Fubara revealed that a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has been scheduled for April 18 to ratify the decision regarding the caretaker committee. He dismissed the circulating lists as the work of desperate individuals seeking media attention and referred to them as empty drums. He advised the public not to pay any attention to these claims and emphasized that no significant developments are taking place before the NEC meeting.
