George Ashiru has been impeached as President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, NTF on Saturday.

The removal was orchestrated by his board members following allegations that he was running the Federation like a sole Administrator without carrying them along.

In a motion moved by Tony Anafule, an executive member representing North Central and supported by Saidu Abdullahi from Kebbi, six members voted in favour of his impeachment.

Vice President Margret Binga was unanimously voted to step in as President. A source at the meeting said that there was no counter motion as majority of the members moved for his impeachment.

When contacted, President of the Nigeria Teakwondo Federation (NTF), George Ashiru said the process of his removal took place when he was attending to the Minister of Youth and Sports during the 6th edition of the Korean Championship adding that he would react in due time.
