GLO charges Flamingoes to beat Spain

National team sponsors Globacom has challenged the Nigeria Women U17 team to go for victory when they face Spain on Friday in their quarter final clash at the Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
In a statement released in Lagos, the company that also doubles as the sponsor of the Caf Awards and Nigeria Premier League extolled the Flamingoes for their comprehensive victory over Mexico in their last group game.
“We congratulate the Flamingoes on their victory over Mexico and the subsequent qualification for the quarter finals which was expected, considering the preparation they made before going into the competition,” the statement read.
“We also know that the team players and technical crew are fully aware of what is at stake and would approach the game against Spain with all the seriousness it deserves.
“We are rest assured that the Bala Nikyu – tutored team will live up to expectation and qualify for the semi finals.
“We believe that the team has the potential to go all the way and lift the throphy like the Golden Eaglets did in the United Arab Emirates in November last year.”
The Flamingoes topped Group D with nine points, having won all their group matches while Spain emerged runners-up in Group C.
