Glo NPL: Ikhana vows to keep Nasarawa Utd afloat
Nasarawa United are gradually finding their way out of the relegation waters and for their interim handler, Kadiri Ikhana, escaping the drop at the end of the season is a target that will be met.
The reassuring words of Premier League survival came from the one time Coach of the year in Africa after his players secured a vital point in their 1-1 away draw against Akwa United.
“I told Nasarawa people that their darling club won’t go on relegation but remain in the Premier League and five matches to go I think we’re almost there guaranteeing the side a spot in the elite league,”Ikhana said in his post match interview at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Striker Victor Namo scored from the penalty spot to level score for his side in the 42nd minute after the home side took the lead in the 33rd minute through top scorer, Mfon Udoh.
However while Ikhana is ready to do his bit to keep Nasarawa in the top flight, he has also confirmed that he will not be staying to handle the team next season as he will prefer to have younger coaches have their chance while he performs in other capacities.
