GloNPFL: Kano Pillars will defend title in Lokoja

Kano Pillars defensive midfielder, Shehu Abdullahi says his side will not rest until they have successfully defended the Glo Nigeria Professional Football League title when they host Dolphins in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Shehu, a member of the Flying Eagles at the 2013 U-20 World Cup in stated that he and his teammates are highly motivated to win the league title back-to-back.

“We are happy to be on top – we will not do everything to remain there – We have enjoined great support from the Kano state government – we are determined to do the state proud – they have always believe in us and we will not want to disappoint them,” Shehu said.

The Chairman of the Kano Pillars Supporters Club, Bashiru Idris Haliru has expressed optimism that their side is bound to retaining the title again this season and believes they are destined for victory.

“We are happy, everything is working for Kano Pillars – I’m grateful to the supporters for keeping strong faith in the players – this is our season again as we are close to winning the title this season,” the Kano Pillars’ number-one supporter noted.

He however, appealed to Kano Pillars supporters in Kogi state to come out in mass to support them against Dolphins when they play their last home match.
