Gold Cup: 3SC faces Kogi United, Sharks battle Supreme Court in semi-finals

The Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament is leaving-up to expectation again with interesting semi-final fixtures to be decided on Wednesday in the crackers billed for the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.

Nigeria Premier League returnee, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan will go up against Kogi United Football Club of Lokoja, by 4.pm, while Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt will tackle Supreme Court FC of Abuja by 4.pm.

Sharks top group A with 6points from 3 group matches, likewise as Kogi United qualified with 6 points as runners-up. 3SC garner 9points to top group B, while Supreme Court made it to the semi-finals with 6 points from 3 matches.

The four teams have all set their sights on winning the coveted trophy of the showpiece.

Speaking with ex-international and 3SC head coach, Franklin Howard, he stated that the Gold Cup tournament as proved a massive test for his side’s ambition to have an excellent performance in the Globacom Premier League.

Kogi United coach, Yomi Eliajh, said he has told his players to have self-confidence and determination with the mindset of getting to the finals and winning the competition.

He said all the four teams stands a better chance to reach the finals.

Sharks FC handler, Gbenga Ogunbote, faces a huge task against Supreme Court and said their match will be like a World Cup finals, that they would take on Supreme Court with a fighting chance of reaching the finals.

Supreme Court gaffer, Fatai Osho, is adamant his side are stronger and stand a chance of progressing to the finals and stated further that he really has good feelings about their tie against Sharks.
