Gold Cup Tourney: Kano Pillars, Supreme Court zoom to semi-finals


Kano Pillars Football Club and Supreme Court Football Club of Abuja, have booked their place in the semi-finals of Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament.

Pillars defeated Giwa Football Club of Jos 1-0 to secure a semi-final spot, while Supreme Court defeated FC Ebedei of Sagamu 2-0.

A resilient team effort was required from Kano Pillars to overcome Giwa. Omo Johnson, 42 minutes strike ensured the Sai Masu Gida side advanced to the semi final to cap a remarkable run.

Abubakar Hassan of Giwa, was sent off for second bookable offence. Pillars and Supreme Court have recorded 6 points respectively from two games, while Giwa and FC Ebedei are yet to record a point.

Meanwhile, goals from Abdullah Hussain and Isaac Peter ensured Supreme Court secured a comfortable win over FC Ebedei.

However, COD United have thrown Group B in the tournament wide open with a 1-0 win over Imperial FC.

Lobi Stars, Imperial FC, Remo Stars, and COD United are with 3points respectively, while Crown FC are yet to record point.
