Kwara United have received the first of many planned donations from the state government after being handed two new team buses on Monday.

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed was on hand to deliver the travelling coaches to United this week following a previous ‘commitment’ by the state to help the Nigerian Premier League club.

“You will recall sometime back, we gave a commitment that we would give a very strong support to Kwara United team that is doing exceptionally well,” Ahmed said.

“We are very happy with you and we said we will continue to encourage you to become the best in the country and the continent.

“As you continue to put in your best, we will continue to support you; to strengthen you each time you come on top.”

Kwara have put in some sterling performances this season and currently sit sixth in the standings, just four points behind leaders Kano Pillars, with a third of the season still left to play.
