The Governor who described such individuals as armchair farmers stated this in chat at the Government House, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Wada pointed out that investigation has revealed that most of the people on the list of those penciled down to collect agriculture loan in the state have no farm land.

The governor noted that those that were involved in the act of disbursing agriculture loan to non farmers have often mismanaged the exercise stressing that till the real farmers were evaluated, no money would be disbursed.

“If that has been the tradition to distribute agriculture loan to armchair farmers this administration will not take that culture, no matter whose ox is gored”.

It would be recalled that state farmers’ group have been in a battle with Ministry of Agriculture and Commercial Agriculture Department.
