Gov Wada Engages 8000 Youths in Kogi

Kogi State Government has charged the newly graduates of the Youths Advancement for Kogi, YAD4KOGI volunteers in the public works scheme to take their engagement seriously as they will formed the fulcrum of employment revolution of the State Government.

The Special Adviser to the State governor on Youth and Women Development, Dr. Temitope Sinkaye stated this at the NYSC camp, Asaya, Kabba during the passing out of the fifth Batch of the Youths Advancement and Development, YAD4KOGI, Volunteers.

Dr. Sinkaiye said the trained youths who will be engaged under the public work arm of the scheme will be paid monthly stipend and enrol into business enteryomi-awoniyiprize of their choice.

She said the volunteers after the successful completion of their vocational jobs will be empowered by the state Government with start up capital in order to provide an avenue for them to employ others youths.

She however warned the volunteers to take their jobs seriously as their attendance at their respective place of work is the only guarantee to access their monthly allowance, “You will only be entitle to your monthly allocation if only you work from 7am to 10an daily from Monday to Friday for 12 months”.

She said the office has set up a a supervisory body that will ensure adequate supervision of the beneficiary and called on them to be serious at their duties post to avoid been expelled from the programe.

She revealed that the Youth and Advancement for Kogi, YAD4KOGI, scheme as employed 8,000 volunteers into the two arms of the programe; with 4,500 of them engaging in the public work while 3,500 others have been engage in the entreprenuership programe.
