Wada made the promise through the State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon Attah Ikani Sule, at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja at the Final Match of the 2015 Federation Cup between Idah United Football Club, Idah and Federal Medical Centre Football Club, Lokoja.

The governor, who praised the state Football Association for organizing the competition, added that his administration was determined to move sport to the highest level.

Youths, according to him, are a very important segment of society, who should not be ignored, if the society is to move forward.

“I want to use this opportunity to say that Kogi State youths are among some of the most hardworking youths in the country. They are always committed, to whatever they put their minds to, and that gladdens my heart.

“This is why I want to assure you that this administration puts a very high important on youths’ enterprise and hard work. I want to assure you of our pledge to encourage you so that your talents can be developed to full potential.

“I want to congratulate the new Football Association in the state for this feat, because this is your first Federations Cup Competition as a body, and from what I see and what I have heard over the period the competition was held, you allowed a level-playing field for the teams, and I commend you for that.”

Wada also called on the appreciation to sustain the tempo, assuring them that he would look into the request forwarded to him.
