Elections into the board of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will hold before August 28 date for the general elections into the executive board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari disclosed this yesterday at the inauguration of the NFF Electoral Committee and the NFF Electoral Appeal committee at the FIFA Technical Centre in Abuja.

Maigari, who was represented at the occasion by a member of the NFF Executive Committee, Alhaji Muazu Suleiman, charged the committees to live above board and serve with all sincerity, diligence, steadfastness and free of corruption to ensure the best polls ever into the NFF Executive Committee and the various leagues.

The leagues, he said include the Nigeria Premier League, the Nigeria National League, the Nigeria Women’s League and the Nigeria Nationwide league.

“Elections are all about fairness and credibility. Without these guiding principles, an election becomes a farce and all manner of unwarranted distractions come along. Despite so many feeble litigations and incredible agitations of a few, the election that brought in my humble self and other members of the NFF Executive Committee in August 2010 was able to survive as a result of the credibility around it,” Maigari emphasized.
