GPL: Rangers defeat Kano Pillars 2-1

Enugu Rangers International fought hard before securing their first win of the season at home to reigning league champions, Kano Pillars at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Saturday.

Emeka Eze got the Enugu fans buzzing with the opener in the ninth minute through a stunning 35 yards shot but Kabiru Umar levelled for Sai masu gida. ejike uzonyi

The game stood at 1-1 at half time but Rangers managed to get the winner through Osas Christian after Emeka Eze lost the opportunity to increase his team’s lead from the penalty spot.

His shot was caught by Pillars’ goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai in the first half.

The win lifted Rangers to three points from two matches and they have a tough duel away to Giwa FC next week at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.
