Group threatens bloodshed, bomb blast in Benin City if NFF 2022 election go ahead on Sept 30

A group under the aegis of Nigeria Football Stakeholders said on Wednesday that “blood will flow” and “would hesitate to bomb” if the 2022 Nigeria Football Federation election go ahead as scheduled for September 30 in Benin City.

The Group, in a letter dated 7th August, 2022 and addressed to Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare and NFF President, Amaju Pinnick and signed by the Secretary of the body, Dogogo Johnbull warned that if the elections is not postponed, many lives will be lost.

“We write to ask for the cancellation of NFF Elections holding in Benin City Edo State on 30th of September, 2022. This is so because of the atrocities committed by the present board,” read the letter scooped by BSNSports.

“Embezzlement and fraud committed by the Amaju Pinnick led board with various cases pending at the ICPC and EFCC. Refusal to carry various players unions and so many stakeholders along in the intended elections.

“Blatant refusal to adjust the statute to accommodate all intending stakeholders to come to the board.

“In view of the above, we aaked that the Elections be stopped till such a time all reforms are carried out.

“Refusal to adhere to our warming will be met with very serious consequence s, we will not hesitate to bomb and bring down the venue of the elections and blood will flow. Your agreement to the cancellation will save many lives.”

The eight-year tenure of current board led by president Pinnick is expected to elapse on September 30, same day the succeeding board will be voted in at the Elective Congress in the Edo State capital.
