Nigeria U23 star Victor Osimhen has said he is fully prepared for the challenges in Europe ahead of his move to Wolfsburg after his recent amazing achievements.
The 16-year-old Ultimate Strikers player announced his decision to join German club Wolfsburg after he was named the African Youth Player of the Year at the Caf Awards in Abuja.
Osimhen earlier told media, “I have visited the team in Wolfsburg and with the promises the coach made to me when I visited the arena, I think Wolfsburg is my destination”.
He was named second most valuable player of the victorious 2015 Golden Eaglets squad and emerged the golden boot with a tournament’s scoring record with 10 goals.
He made the Nigeria U23 side final squad that won the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal in December, winning two international championships with six months.
While urging youth players to in themselves, the youngster thanked coaching duo of Emmanuel Amuneke and Samson Siasia for giving him the chance to realize his potentials and reach stardom.
“Going to Europe to compete with the best requires a lot of hard work,” Osimhen told media.
“The under-17 and under-21 are different from the football played in Europe but I think I am ready for the task ahead.
“Actually I was born for greatness and God has been guiding me. I think I am ripe enough to compete with big names in football and I think I still have enough to learn.
“Education is my first priority, though, I got the fame in football but I will like to continue my education in Europe; it will be best for me.
“From my own experience, irrespective of the situation, we should just keep our heads high, be focused and put God first in all we do.
“I want to thank Coaches Emmanuel Amuneke and Samson Siasia for what they have done in my life,” he concluded.
