As part of routine exercise in sports administration, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state replaces the Chairman of Kano Pillars Football Club (Sai Masu Gida), Surajo Shuaibu Yahaya, with the Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, Ibrahim Galadima.
He said “As Kano Pillars is facing more competition in National Premier League (NPL) it will be good to have leadership that could perfectly lead the Club.”
“Ibrahim Galadima, Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, will now replace the current Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Surajo Shu’aibu Yahaya, in an acting capacity, before the appointment of a substantive Chairman,” governor Ganduje reveals. The appointment is with immediate effect.
The former chairman, Surajo Yahaya is removed after the infamous Mike Tyson blow on an AR last week.
Former champions Kano Pillars subdued Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium. After a goalless first half, captain Rabiu Ali put his team ahead from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.
The Sai Masu Gida had numerous chances to increase their lead, but they were stopped by their wastefulness. Despite the win, Pillars are in 13th position on the NPFL log with two points adrift of the relegation places, having garnered 45 points from 35 matches so far.
In final three matches, Pillars will take on back-to-back visits to Rivers United and Nasarawa United before wrapping up their league campaign at home against Shooting Stars
