Idris Wada stress Kogi Govt focus on Youth Development

The business of Governance in Kogi State has been sanitized through a policy of engaging the youths using the Youth Advancement of Kogi Programme.

Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, stated this when he received in his office the Executive Secretary of Petroleum Training Development Fund, Dr. Oluwole Oluleye.

The State Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said his administration has engaged the youths positively by refocusing their energies towards economic gains and self reliance.

The Governor described the State as one filled with opportunities and possibilities, said a large number of youths, numbering 5,000 have so far being engaged under the empowerment programme of the administration.

Wada disclosed that the State remains one that is peaceful from youth restiveness, said his deliberate policy of re-orientation has made thuggery and other social vices unattractive to the youths as a large number of them are pursing legitimate dreams.

Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary of Petroleum Training Development Fund (PTDF), Dr. Oluwole Oluleye, said the agency is looking at locating ICT Projects and other skill acquisition centers that will help develop the youths to contribute positively to national development in the State.

Dr. Oluleye, commended the premium Capt. Idris Wada places on youth advancement, said his agancy plans to partner the State in several areas it can make intervention.
