Igalamela/Odolu, National Open University to Partner on Training

Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State is to partner the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Lokoja Study Centre, on the use of the facilities of the Primary Health Clinic, Ajaka, for the training of some of its students.

The representatives of the university and students’ counsellor, Mrs Joyce Adisa, made this known when she paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the local government, Comrade Zakito Umar, in his office.

She stated that the clinic would be used as training centre for undergraduate students of the Department of Community Health to acquire practical experience in their chosen profession.

She stated that the practical training session had become imperative as part of the partial requirement for the fulfillment of the university degree in Community State Health and solicited for the cooperation of the council to ensure the success of the programme.

The secretary to the local government, Comrade Aliyu Hawa Musa, who stood in for the chairman, described it as a welcome development, assuring of the total support and cooperation of the council area in order to ensure the success of the training programme.
