Ini-abasi Umotong’s goal helped Brighton & Hove Albion women to a 2-2 draw with Oxford United Women in an English Women’s Super League 2 encounter on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward had handed the visitors the lead with her third goal of the season in the 56th minute after a barren first half at the Court Place Farm.

In the 64th minute, Chloe Chivers restored parity for Les Taylor’s ladies before Taome Oliver put the home team in front in the 72nd minute.

But Sophie Perry was on hand to rescue Hope Powell’s side from suffering their second defeat with just four minutes left to play.

The goal was the 23-year-old’s third goal in four league games since she joined the Seagulls, who are now sixth in the log in July.

Umotong’s side will host Eniola Aluko’s Chelsea in the Women Super League Cup on November 1 at the Culver Road.
