Former Sunshine Stars striker Izu Azuka has been presented as new Kahramanmaraşspor’s player and enthused at the team’s potential to get out of their current situation.

Izu, who previously had stints in Libya, Algeria and Tunisia, was presented to fans alongside former Prime FC striker, Ganiyu Bolaji Oseni, at the 12 Şubat Stadyumu.

After taking a first training session with the team currently in 17th position in the Turkish Division One, with one draw and two defeats in the opening weeks, the 24-year-old was in high spirit despite the setback.

“I am here to show the public my worth. I’m proud to be here in Turkey,” Izu told savidnews.com.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity. I know the responsibility that I face and I assume it. This is a personal and professional challenge.

“I believe that the team is currently below its potential. I trust in the players in the team and that will be the basis of my primary duty, scoring the goals.

“We will try to be a balanced team. We have to be brave and aggressive to attack and defend.

“I see a lot of willingness to work and to make things right. That’s a good starting point.”
