Team’s Media Officer quotes Keshi as saying from the United States where he has gone on a short visit to his family that the three players gives him a lot of options in the major departments of the game. Dike is a power playing striker, Omeruo, a central defender and Reuben a combative midfielder with an eye for goals.
“I am in touch with the three of them and have been praying with them and for them because Nigeria and their club sides need them because they are at their prime and very good at what they are doing. So I will want Nigerians to join me in praying for them so that they can return to action on time.
Keshi also spoke on Mikel’s first premier league goal for Chelsea last weekend since joining the London side seven seasons ago. “I have been trying to reach him but to no avail but am absolutely delighted because I always tell him he can do it whether at club or national team level but he has to move closer to the goal area. He has done it on one or two occasionswith the national team and there should be nothing special about his scoring for Chelsea but a lot also depends on what Coach Mourinho wants him to play for the club. I am sure the goals will start pouring in for him now”, he said.
On Victor Moses, Keshi said he is excited at the form of the player for his new club, Liverpool FC, adding that Moses has always had a very positive attitude to the game of football and predicted that he will not only be a legend of the game for the Super Eagles but in English and European football.
Oboabona: Am Happy At Ritzespur
Super Eagles defence ace, Godfrey Oboabona has dispelled news making the rounds that he was not being featured at his new club because he can’t speak the Turkish language.
Rather he says he is happy at Ritzespur FC in Turkey and has been well taken care of by the management of the club in the best possible way.
“So far I have played two games for the club and even scored in one of the test matches but you will recall that I did not do pre-season with the club and the manager is trying to see my potentials before he throws me in but so far they have been very professional in the way they treat me.”
Oboabona reveals that at times he will not be dressed for a game and yet he will be paid his match bonus. “That shows the amount of respect they have for me and I must say to all concerned Nigerians that I am very happy in Turkey”.
Speaking further, the former Sunshine Stars of Akure captain, said at the moment the Turkish side has 13 foreign based players and only six can be dressed for games and most times he’s one of them. That he said should indicate that he has a bright future at the club. “I can confidently say that sooner than later I will become a regular at the club, I just pray against injuries”, he said.
