Kogi Centre: One feared dead, 8000 sits for recruitment exercise in Lokoja

immigration recuitThe hidden face of unemployment in Nigeria showcased itself at the Lokoja Township Stadium in the Kogi state capital as the Nigeria immigration Service (NIS) has over 700,000 applicants for the recruitment job exercise that is going on all over the country.

It applicants was reported to have paid a thousand naira to the organizer.

An eye witness confirmed to SavidNews that an unnamed applicant that was servely injured at the sreening venue died in the early hours of Sunday in the hospital.

The screening exercise started around 9:am and the exercise will still last for about 6 hours before they start the examination that will commence by 4:pm.

No any form of dead case yet, but 3 case of applicant that fainted because they stood too long under the sun and some were wounded because they are rushing to be screened.

Some angry applicants expressed disappointed they are with the NIS over the modalities adopted to conduct the exercise.

Bayo Alabi one of the applicants said he’s very tired and some of them are still waiting for the time of the screening which is like they won’t be able to finish before 4pm.

He further said some of them came since 7am the time they said the screening will start and the waited two hours doing nothing on the field.

Halimat Abubakar another aspirant said she’s tired and cannot wait to go back home because they are too slow with the screening and some of them have not taken anything since morning.

The Public Relation Officer of NIS Lokoja who is anonymous did not give any information because he said is under pressure at the moment and refused talk to press.
