Adesuyi, during his formal assumption of office, in Lokoja, disclosed that the Kogi NSCDC unit arrested five pipeline vandals and recovered two 33, 000 litre capacity tankers from them.

Calling for support from the media, he reiterated the agency’s determination to deliver on its mandate.

He said “This country is losing billions of naira to vandalism, and protection of national assets is our priority and we assure Nigerians of our determination to work towards the fulfilment of our duty.

“We have five suspects in our custody and the case has to do with vandalization of pipelines. Two trucks were seized and investigation is still ongoing.

“What I like to say here is that security of lives and property in any nation is not reliant on any particular security agency, and we are all partners in the process. The security challenges of this nation is very enormous and there is no single agency that can tackle it alone.

He commended the outgoing commander, Deputy Commandant Kingsley Oguntuwase for a good job, saying his administration will build on it.
