Kogi councils repositioned for effective Service Delivery – Media Aide
The Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Kogi state chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria,(ALGON), Ibrahim Obansa, has said that the Local government councils are being repositioned for effective service delivery to the people.
Speaking to Journalists, over the weekend, during the child dedication of his boss, the ALGON chairman, Aloysius Okino, Obansa stressed that the present council chairmen are committed to the progress of their respective councils.
He maintained that if the issue of ghost workers and other wastages are eliminated from the councils, the officials would be in better position to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
The ALGON spokes person however assured that the council chairmen are committed to the ongoing screening of staff across the 21 council areas, stressing that the result so far has helped to exposed monumental fraud in the system.
He called on all stakeholders in the local government areas to support this laudable initiative aimed at restoring confidence and sanity in local administration in the state.
“I called on all stakeholders in the 21 local government areas of the state to support this initiative. It is directed at bringing sanity to the councils and restore confidence in local administration in the state” he maintained.
According to him a lot of transformation is already going on in the areas of effective healthcare delivery, rural road maintenance, youths and women development among others across the 21 council areas.
Obansa stressed that with the positive steps being taken by the council bosses, the people should expect better things in the months ahead, saying that the chairmen are determined to put smiles on the faces of the electorates.
