Kogi First Lady, Halima Wada hails FOMWAN for Girl Child impact

Wife of Kogi State Governor Hajia Halima Wada has commended the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria for making girl child role models for positive impact in the society.

She stated this at the opening ceremony of the associationgov wada f‘s 14th National Education Summit in Lokoja on Friday.

While commending the association for its empowerment drive,wife of the governor described education as an essential tool for the social mobilisation and acculturation of the people.

She pointed out that education was critical to the concept of the Nigerian nation,particularly as it relates to the well being and advancement of children especially the girl child.

She expressed optimism that the modern education institution will not only enhance the education of the girl child but foster equal education opportunities.

She said the girl child education does not only bring about immediate empowerment benefits, but also develops the essential life skills in them, while eradicating ignorance, poverty and diseases.

She congratulated the kogi chapter of FOMWAN for the successful hosting of the summit and pledged her unflinching support for its programs and projects.

In an address by the National president of FOMWAN, Hajia Amina Omoti said education summit was a strategic move to monitor standard in the implementation of its policy and discuss critical issues germane to the growth of quality education in Nigeria, hence the theme of the summit “improving the quality of education and training for national development”.

She maintained that the prophetic injunction of the holy prophet on the acquisition of knowledge involve the huge investment on the education of the muslim child.

While commending Governor Idris Wada for his good works especially in education sector,she expressed her gratitude to the wife of the governor for her tremendous support to the hosting of the summit.
