Kogi Governor’s Wife Condemns unknown criminal for Vandalising Flower
Wife of Kogi Governor Hajia Halima Wada has condemned the attitude of unknown persons who removed the tree plant beautification along major streets in Lokoja metropolis.
The wife of the governor stated this while inspecting the extent of damaged caused by the people.
The wife of the governor who was represented by the Director of the office of the wife of the governor Mrs Susan Ogwuche said she is surprised how some unknown persons will want to sabotage the effort of the government in development.
She stated that the purpose of the tree plant across the town by her pet project Kogi Women Empowerment Network(KOWEN) is to give the state capital a new lift of beautification and to arrest climate change which has been a threat to the state.
She appealed to perpetrators to come openly with their grievances and complains rather than sabotage the effort of the present administration in her bid to enhance development in the state.
In a speech by the State Commissioner of Environment, Hon Abdulrahman Wuya condemned the vandals stating that this is not an encouragement to the administration and the first lady’s pet project who implemented the project.
He said one of the major significance of the tree plant in the state is to arrest climate change which has been a threat to the state, stating that it is disheartening for vandals to destroy a project like this,a project that is initiated in every state of the country.
He commended the present administration for initiating changes in the state, assuring the people of the state that all necessary mercenaries will be put in place to ensure that those perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
He urges the citizen of the state to support the present administration stating that the present government is set to innovate and bring changes to the state, noting that the perpetrators cannot stop the government from doing the good works intended of it.
