Kogi Govt assures land owners at Ganaja of compensation

The Kogi State Government has assured of adequate compensation to those who will lose their land and properties where the 500 Bond Housing Estate will be located in Ganaja and Crusher area of Lokoja.
Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Governor gave the assurances of the Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada to owners of such properties when he inspected the extent of land cleared for the layout that is expected be handed over to the two contractors that will build the three, two and one bedroom units of bungalows.
While noting that there was no need for owners of properties to entertain any fear, he assured of the resolve of Gov. Idris Wada to adequately compensate those affected.
Awoniyi explained that the site will be handed over to the building contractors Monday next week,reaffirmed the resoluteness of the administration to follow due process in ensuring that legitimate claims are compensated.
Awoniyi expressed satisfaction with the progress of land cleared with a view to open the area for the units of houses.
He particularly commended the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency for the quality of work they have done, assured of timely completion of the housing project that will help reduce the housing challenge faced by people, especially civil servants living in the state.
Awoniyi promised judicious use of resources by the Capt Wada administration, describing the governor as a prudent manager of resources, who despite paucity of funds is committed to providing succor to the people.
