Kogi Govt will sustain support for school sports, says Tolorunleke Sunday

Kogi State Government has reiterated its commitment to develop unity, integration and togetherness through promotion of school sports in the state.

Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Education, Dr Tolorunleke Sunday said this while watching addressing sports writers in the state at the ongoing 18th Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball Championships in Lokoja.

While expressing satisfaction recorded so far by the state contingents at the championships, Dr Sunday believe the Kogi State representatives will go all the way to win the conference, just as he appreciated Governor Bello for his timely intervention for the state to host the Championships with the provision of necessary logistics.

He assured that the present administration will continue to develop all sectors including education through sports with provision and upgrading sports facilities in schools across the state.

“Under my watch at the Education ministry, I will continue to encourage school sports with the aim of identifying hidden talents, fish them out with a view to improve sports development not only in the state but in the country at large,” Dr Sunday said.

He however, solicited support of stakeholders in education and sports to develop the sectors in the state.
