KOGI: Idah LG Boss Root for Grassroots Sports, Dickson College wins Secondary Schools Cup
The Chairman of the Idah Local government area council, Dr Musa Major has stated that his administration will continue to give more attention to schools sports in view to empowering, engaging and encouraging grassroots talents development.
The ldah Local government boss made the declaration at the end of the tournament’s final in Idah on Monday.
Dr Musa Major while expressing delight in bringing sports back to live in Idah, noted that the local government is determined to be in fore-front of grassroots sports development in the state.
Dickson Memorial College has emerged champions of Idah Local Government Inter-Secondary Schools Football Chairman’s Cup after 3-1 victory on penalties in Idah.
Ogah Memorial College and Idah Commercial College played out a 1-1 draw at regulation time with penalties result settling who won the contest as Dickson College ended signing the victory song.
Earlier, both made it to the finals with Dickson Memorial College earning a 2:0 win over Idah Commercial College while Ogah Memorial College dumped out high-flying Saint Peter College on 4:2 on penalties to after 1-1 draw at regulation time in the semi-finals which were played on Thursday and Friday respectively.
SavidNews Nigeria would recalled that the opening game saw Government Secondary School lost 0-2 to Idah Commercial College on Monday while Saint Peter College, Idah humiliatingly thrashed Government Technical College 7:0 on Tuesday in Idah.
Amidst notable personalities that graced the final was the Special Adviser to Kogi State Government on Public-Private Partnership and former Chairman of ABS Football Club, Hon Abdul Adama.
