Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has said that the state monthly internally generated revenue has risen to N500 million.
The Kogi State governor who disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists to mark his two year anniversary in office, said when he assumed office, internally generated revenue was between N70 million to N100 million.
“We have been able to achieve this by blocking all the loopholes and leakages through which money is siphoned. Also there is a systematic effort to work with DFID to restructure revenue generation in the state,” he said.
Governor Wada added that payment of tax is a crucial obligation of citizens if the state is to be developed.
