Kogi inaugurates Board members for 21 State Sports Associations

Kogi State Ministry of Youths and Sports has sworn-in board members into twenty-one State Sports Associations and saddled them with responsibility of developing their various sports in the state.kogi united-wada

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at the Indoor hall of the Lokoja Confluence Stadium, Honorable Attah Ikani Sule demanded selfless service from the inaugurated members of twenty-board of the state associations, while asking sincerity in the management of funds release by the government for their various sporting programmes.

He urged the Associations’ members to compliment government’s effort in its strive to develop sports and empower the youths through sports, just as government cannot bear the burden alone.

Sule, who was represented by Mr Peter Abu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youths and Sports tasked the board members to comb the countries for well-to-do individuals of Kogi origin for sponsorship, as well as nurturing various sports at the grassroot level.

He indicated that the boards’ membership have been drawn from the Civil Society, Military/Para-military, Politicians, Senior Civil Servants and Sports Philanthropists and enthusiasts at diverse ethnic group with the state.
