Kogi Lawmaker Opens Free Computer Training Centre In Amuro

Member representing Mopamuro Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Folusho Daniel has opened the Amuro Computer Training Centre, an initiative which is aimed at giving free computer training to the youths of the constituency by Hon. Daniel.

The member had opened a similar centre in Mopa last year where over 100 youths have been trained in different computer programs.

According to the Chairman of the House Committee on Peace and Security, the training initiative is his own reaction to the need for youths to be versed in computer education in view of the current wave of computer-based tests for entrance into higher citadels of learning.

“Last year, we expended millions to establish a computer training centre in Mopa with state-of-the-earth computer systems, computer desks, projectors and a host of other instructional materials. I decided to make it absolutely free in order to give our youths a greater chance of doing well in computer-based tests. We can’t afford put the Mopamuro children at a disadvantage, hence the need to aid their dreams.

“I want to say here that I am impressed by the success the initiative has recorded as our students were bold enough to put in computer-based matriculation examination and did fairly well. This success has prompted me to establish a prototype of the centre in Amuro. We have put everything in place for the smooth take-off of the centre in the next few days”, he said.
