Kogi Transition: Gov. Wada meets Bello, assures hitch-free handover

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi and Chairman steering committee of the Transition Committee, says the committee is determined to carry out its assignment to ensure a smooth transition of power to the incoming administration.

Awoniyi made the disclosure when the State Government Transition Committee met with the Transition Committee set by Alh Yahaya Bello in government house lokoja.

The Deputy Governor, disclosed that the state transition committee is working tirelessly to ensure that it deliver all the documents that would enable the incoming administration hit the ground running.

While he noted that the state transition committee is most privileged to meet with the Yahaha Bello Committee, he promised to ensure that it provides all the relevant documents that would allow the new administration have direct access to information that would enable it deliver to the people of the state.

Awoniyi described the out going government as one that has delivered democracy dividends to people of the state, amidst the huge challenge posed by finance, said efforts by the state transition committee to enable it hit the ground running, through a well organized handing over, and into government activities would be made possible.

Awoniyi assured of all cooperation from the state government committee to enable the incoming government succeed, promising that the essence of the meeting was to also draw up a program of hand over towards the 27th January.

The Deputy Governor, called on the incoming government to feel free to ask for information they would require to settle down to governance, disclosing that the present administration is ready to make available necessary information that would help improve governance and the well-being of the people.
