Kogi United engages Enyimba for Gov Wada’s 2nd Anniversary

A high profile friendly football match has been scheduled between the state’s darling team, Kogi United FC and Nigeria Professional Football League giants, Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba.

The grade-A friendly encounter is billed for Lokoja Confluence Stadium, Kogi State on Tuesday, January 28 by 4:00pm local time.

The match which was organized as part of programmes lined up to commemorate the second year in office of Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada in view of highlighting the Governor Wada’s administration transformation agenda in Sports and Youth development in the state.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor Idris Wada on Public Private Partnership, PPP and Chairman, Kogi United, Mallam Abdul Adama, the friendly is to reiterate the state government’s commitment to sports development.

Adama noted that it will assist the team to prepare for the new National League season which begins on February 14.

Kogi United will face for the first time the 2013 Federation Cup holders, six-time Nigeria Professional Football League Champions and two-time CAF Champions League winners.

It would be recalled that the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada was sworn-in to office on January 27, 2012 following the stepping-aside of former governor Ibrahim Idris in accordance with a Supreme Court ruling over tenure elongation.
