Kogi United holds Enyimba for Gov. Wada, Stress NNL Season Readiness

Kogi United FC on Tuesday, played out a goaless draw against Federation Cup champions, Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
It was a one sided game in the first half as Kogi United had a total control of the game, and they would have had a first half lead had Aminu Abdulkadir’s 26 goal stood.
The friendly encounter, which was witnessed a capacity crowd was part of programmes to celebrate Governor Idris Wada’s two years in office, saw Enyimba come out maturely in the second half, but could not result into any goal.
Governor Idris Wada, who expressed his joy with the performance of both sides acknowledged the support of good people of the state.
He however promised his continuous support for the club to gain promotion to the apex league in the country.
Chairman of Kogi United, Mallam Abdul Adama said the choice of playing Enyimba was to give the governor a befitting two year anniversary adding that the team would always represent the state well in any future challenges.
Kogi Utd Coach, Fatai Osho expressed dissatisfaction with the game as he believed his boys should have won the game with their dominance.
Coach Osho who confirmed his boys’ readiness for the new Nigeria National League season however noted that the game afforded him the chance to make few amendment.
His counterpart from Enyimba, Coach Monday Odigie commended the Wada boys for their fighting spirit, adding that the team have what it takes to do better in the league proper.
Kogi United will begin the National League life with a home game against Ranchers Bees of Kaduna on February 15, 2014.
