Kogi United FC and newcomers Aklosendi Int’l FC from Lafia slated for Confluence Stadium, Lokoja by 4pm as the long awaited 2017/2018 Bet9ja Nigeria National League, NNL will commence on Saturday, 28th of April, 2018.

This is the first meeting between both sides as the Lafia based club are making their debut in the second tier division of Nigerian leagues, the NNL.

Aklosendi are expected to use this season to learn the trade in the NNL, coming with less experience, but the coach Tunde Abdulrahman led side are not ready to give any chance against Aklosendi who claimed the ticket to their present status in a playoff decided in Lokoja last year.

Coach Abdulrahman said his side was ready to take the full match points and approach the match with total focus and seriousness as United were ready to pick the ticket to top division in the country.

The club has beefed up their ranks with experienced players in the off season after the departures of club captain, Ismaila Maiyaki, John John and Bolaji Micheal and has expressed satisfaction with his side’s business so far and expected to make good use of his players.

“We have done the necessary preparations for this season and we are fully ready for this game, we want to give it all to gain promotion in the end and we intend to start brighter on Saturday.”

“It may not be an easy game as Aklosendi have also prepared for this as well, so we will take the game with all seriousness and we are confident the players we have brought in will do well for us,” he said.
