The executive secretary of Anti-Corruption Network and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Dino Melaye, has asserted that the APC will win the Kogi West Senatorial seat in 2015 general elections currently being occupied by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Abuja, Melaye who is a former member of the House of Representatives, said the PDP has failed the people of the senatorial district who have made up their minds to dump the party for the opposition, APC.
He said, “As I am speaking with you the present occupant of the senatorial seat is an Abuja politician, he is not a grassroots person, talking about Smart Adeyemi and I want to assure you that politics is about the people and the people of my senatorial district have made up their minds to go with APC and for change. That change is imminent and that change will come and I assure you that there is no cause for alarm, the APC will win the senatorial seat of Kogi West.”
Melaye is also a senatorial aspirant for Kogi West senatorial district on the platform of the APC.
debunked the rumours making the rounds that there is a crisis in Kogi State APC occasioned by the alleged domineering influence of the former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu on the party. He stated that such rumours were being peddled by PDP moles in the APC in the state.
“There is no crisis in APC in Kogi State. APC is one big family. There is no crisis, Prince Abubakar Audu is the indisputable leader of the opposition in Kogi State and he has never been in the ruling party. Right from 1991 he has been in the opposition and he is the indisputable leader of the APC, so some charlatans, very few who are moles of the PDP are trying to create confusion here and there but it holds no water. The APC in Kogi is one united vibrant family and as I am speaking with you, we are winning supporters daily. Everyday people troop from the PDP to the APC, which is more formidable now, more vibrant. And I want to assure you that we will take over government in Kogi State”, Melaye added.
