#KogiGovRace: PDP Youth Leader assassinated ahead of party guber primaries

Reports just in say a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Kogi state, was assassinated on Monday night.

Sun Newspapers reports that Chief Jeremiah Abu was trailed and shot severally, by his assailants, and left to bleed to death. Members of the PDP in the state are pointing accusing fingers at the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

This has happened ahead of the PDP guber primaries slated for Thursday September 10. In the race for the party flagbearer are former aspirant Jubril Isah Echocho, Banjo Amoto Moses and incumbent governor Capt Idris Wada.

The winner will face APC flagbearer and former warlord Prince Abubakar Audu in the state governorship election slated for November 21, 2015.

However, the youth leader of the PDP in the state, Mr. Stephen Onaji, also asked the police to investigate the murder, and bring the culprits to book.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Police Commissioner, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu has warned politicians to stop using thugs to settle scores.
