KSU tackles Okene Utd as Kogi State Federation Cup kicks-off today

The long-awaited Kogi State 2014 Federation Cup competition will commenced on 16th April, 2014, as Okene United trade tackles with debutants, Kogi State University (KSU) FC at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Monday.
In a statement signed and released by the Kogi State FA Secretary, Augustine Ogunmola, the annual tournament will kick-off on 21th April 2014 with all the games to be played in Lokoja.
The 2014 Kogi State Federation Cup tournament will have seven registered clubs in the contest for the coveted annually organised Challenge Cup.
No big guns in the Preliminaries as are Nigeria Nationwide League side Lokoja FC and defending champions Nigeria National League side Kogi United will not be involved in the early start of the competition, which serves as a qualifiers for the National Federation Cup.
Kogi United are the defending champions of the 2013 Kogi State Federation Cup, defeating Lokoja FC 4:2 on penalties after 1:1 full time result at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja last year.
The opening game between KSU and Okene United will kickoff by 4pm.
