Lagos Scholarship Board Conducts 2013/14 Screening Test

Chess event Lagos TeamThe Lagos State Government through the State Scholarship Board is set to conduct 2013/2014 Local Scholarship screening test for indigenes of the State who have applied for the award.

Speaking on the scholarship interview scheduled for Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Government College, Agege beside NYSC Orientation Camp by 8am, the Director/Secretary Lagos State Scholarship Board, Mrs Omauton Yetunde Jegede said the State Government annually gives the award to support indigent but brilliant students, who are indigenes of the State studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.

She added that the award is also given to reduce parents’ financial burden of providing qualitative education for their children or award.

Mrs Jegede however stated that interested applicants must fulfill the following criteria before being considered for the award:

1). Must be an indigene of Lagos State

2). Must have a CGPA of 3.50 or above

3). Purchase the form at the Office of the Special Adviser on Education, the Secretariat Alausa, Ikeja by paying the sum of Two Thousand (N2, 000) Naira only. Thereafter, bring the receipt to Lagos Scholarship Board Office, Agege beside NYSC Orientation Camp, to collect the scratch card to access the online application form.

4). Applicants are expected to fill the application forms and submit print out copies at the interview venue with original and photocopies of documents such as; evidence of indigeneship from Local Government Area and Oba, Letter of Admission, Student’s Identity Card, Birth Certificate, JAMB Result Slip, Academic Certificates obtained and any other documentary evidence.

The award value ranges between N200, 000.00 for undergraduates, N300, 000.00 for Master’s Degree and N400, 000.00 for Doctorate degree.
