Late Mike Akhigbe Gold Cup Kicks-off Friday in Edo
The Edo State Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria is set for the late vice Admiral 
Gold Cup which kicks-off on the 13th December and ends on the 20th December 2013 in Fugar, Edo State.
The bosom friend of the late four-star Naval General Chief Fidelis Omoerah JP, says the sports-loving widow of the late Admiral Dr. Josephine Okhai Akhigbe was very pleased with the honour brought to her late husband during his life time and of such the championship must not die.
The Chairman of the Edo State YSFON, Osamudiamen Osagiede disclosed that the family of the late beloved top Naval General has approved the hosting of this year Edition which has been an annual event before the death of the late vice Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe.
“You see my late husband has placed this annual important programme of this event every year, so we the family must not let it die. We have give the Edo YSFON the approval to organizer the annual Akhigbe gold cup,” the wife of the late Naval General,Dr. Josephine Akhigbe confirmed.
According to Dr. Josephine Akhigbe, the soccer tournament is my husband pet project this is one of those project he told me to ensure it’s sustained from time to time.
Meanwhile 26 male teams and female teams from all part of the federation are expected to arrive Fugar on the 12th of December 2013, Etsako Central Local government council are the chief host of the Championship which enter the Eighteen Edition this year.
