Libya Dismantles Benghazi Terror Cell

A terrorist cell believed to be behind recent assassinations in Libya’s second city of Benghazi has been dismantled with a dozen persons, including three Chadian nationals, arrested, a top Benghazi security official said.

‘The Libyan Martyrs’ brigade on Monday night dismantled a terrorist cell, which supported the regime of late Muammar Kaddafi with the support of foreign mercenarlibyaies,” the security official was quoted to have said Tuesday by the Libyan media.

The cell’s members were said to have confessed to being connected to the recent violent acts in Benghazi.

They said they have killed over a dozen security officials and political activists by hiding explosive devices under their vehicles.
