LMC support continental-bound NPFL clubs with two million naira

The League Management Company has announced a two million naira support funds to the four Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL clubs participating in the Caf continental club competitions which begins from Saturday, February 14.

The four representatives are Kano Pillars and Enyimba would take part in the 2015 Caf Champions League while Dolphins and Warri Wolves partake in the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup.

The quadrant clubs are expected to begin their campaign with the first leg of the preliminary stages in various competitions which serves up as the qualifying round to group stages this weekend.

In a statement to Goal, the chairman of the LMC, Nduka Irabor urged teams representing the country to be good ambassadors of the league as well bring their experiences at the Super Four pre-season tournament to bear.

Irabor said the gesture of the LMC is to boosts the preparations and motivate the clubs to succeeding against their opponents in the continental competitions.

“We wish our clubs and the two junior national teams well in their outings beginning this weekend and also offer our support to inspire the players to excellent performance building on the benefits of the Glo Premier League Super-4 which was organized to prepare them for the continental engagements”, Irabor said.

“We are also aware that your need is more than what has been offered but we expect that the respective proprietors will continue to play their role and equip you adequately to be good ambassadors and flag bearers of your fans, the league and Nigerian football generally”, he concluded.

For match fixtures this weekend, Kano Pillars will visit Al-Malakia in Juba while Enyimba hosts Benin Republic’s Buffles du Borgou FC both in the CAF Champions League.

While in the Caf Confederation Cup, Dolphins travel to Equatorial Guinea to take on Leones Vegetarianos while Warri Wolves will be away to Burkina Faso’s RC Bobo-Dioulasso this weekend.
