Lokoja Chairman Cup: We’re still on Course – Bako
The Senior Special Adviser on Sports to Alhaji Aliyu Baba Usman, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area (LGA),Mr Moses Nagogo Bako has assured the sports-loving people of the area that the proposed Lokoja Chairman’s Football tournament is still very much on course.
The sporting event will is expected to witness the participation of 10 teams representing the 10 wards that make up the LGA.
Mr Bako told SavidNews.com in an exclusive chat that the intent of the Lokoja boss at staging the grassroot football event was in line to fulfill his electioneering campaign promises to engaging the youths in the area.
Bako, who also Chairs the Confluence Queens’ Supporters Club also said that Honorable Aliyu Baba Usman is desirous in the organising of the football tournament giving to his generous quest to develop grassroot sports and boost the discovery of burden talents that abounds in the area.
The renowned politician and football enthusiast however called on well-to-do individuals, organization of similar passion to key into the Aliyu Baba Usman led administration plans to develop sports talents who will grow into international hero.
He added that efforts are in pipeline to ensure the staging of the football fiesta is a success by the council.
The proposed 10 days Lokoja Chairman’s cup according to the organizing committee is expected to attract at least 10,000 people in the area.
