Lokoja War: We’re ready to host Kano Pillars, Enyimba – Kogi FA
The Kogi State Football Association says they are fully-prepared to host the high-profile match between Kano Pillars and Enyimba at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Tuesday.
The Secretary of the Kogi State FA, Mr Ibrahim Shaibu who confirmed the State wing of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) got information from the Nigeria League Management Company through the NFF on Friday, informed that necessary logistics required for the smooth staging of the match have been concluded.
He indicated that according to the release received from the NFF confirmed “the game will be played without the spectators behind close-doors”.
Mr Ibrahim admitted that the NFF choice of Lokoja for a neutral venue was owned to it centralized location between the two-involving clubs.
While, noting how importance of the game in the bid for the Nigeria Professional League title, he assured that the Kogi FA are “approaching the encounter with all sincerity, fairness and seriousness”.
He rubbished claims over the purported support for the Kano Pyramids, stressing that the “both teams are familiar with the terrain, having their various supporters”, while insisting “both have equal advantage playing in Lokoja”.
Though without a team in topflight league since it creation, Kogi state will host at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium the first high-profile match of Kano Pillars and Enyimba pedigree.
