Lokoja Youths call for lawmaker’s return to Kogi Assembly

In order to entrench and consolidate on the gains of democracy already being enjoyed in the constituency, youths in Lokoja 1, under the umbrella of Lokoja Youths For Good Governance, have called on the electorate to give the Chief Whip and member representing them, Hon Alhaji Suleiman Babadoko, a chance for a return to the legislature in the next election.

Speaking at a Press conference held recently at the press centre of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lokoja, the coordinator of the group, Yakubu Gowon, described Hon Babadoko as the best performing legislator that Lokoja 1 has ever produced.

According to him, the chief whip is a man that I committed to living a worthy legacy in the sands of history, saying that he is a man that backs his words with action, an antecedent that he has continued to maintain since he was sworn-in as a member of the state House of Assembly.

The coordinator appealed to the people of Lokoja 1 constituency to give the lawmaker a total cooperation and support so that he can put in his best and consolidate on his achievements of attracting more dividends of democracy.

He highlighted some of Babadoko’s achievements since going into the House of Assembly to include the construction of health facilities at Otokiti and Lokongoma Villages, construction of Blocks of Classrooms and distribution and installation of 500 KVA transformers to all the 5 wards of Lokoja 1 constituency.

Other are connection of water from Lokoja Greater Water Station to Adankolo, Fentolu, Anguwan Tiv, and Newlayout; ongoing water projects to connect old market to palace and the entire ward C and D at the cost of N2.3 Million; scholarship to many students from all the wards among others.

Gowon enjoined the people of Lokoja to ensure that they elect credible, intelligent and God fearing leaders like Hon Babadoko who have the required experience to give them adequate representation at the state House of Assembly.
