Madrid star signs £75m deal to pass Messi

According to the Daily Mail, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly signed a new five-year deal with Real Madrid that is worth £75 million – and will keep him at Madrid for the rest of his career.

There have been recent links connecting Ronaldo with Manchester United, but it now appears that no such transfer will materialize.

Marca reports that Ronaldo will earn a massive new wage, worth £900,000 MORE each season that Lionel Messi – making the Portoguese the highest-paid player in Spanish football.

It is believed that this new deal also includes a clause that will increase Ronaldo’s share of his image rights – which currently sit at about 60%.

As of only a few days ago, Ronaldo was coy on his future, stating “The situation still hasn’t been resolved and I don’t think now is the right time to talk about it – perhaps we’ll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line, but now the only thing in my remit is to train and work.”

It now appears that Ronaldo’s future has been settled, with official confirmation expected in the near future.
