Prompt News: President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari is looking forward to presenting the CHAN trophy to President Goodluck Jonathan at the end of the ongoing championship in Cape Town, South Africa.
Speaking to newsmen Tuesday at the Glass House, the Football boss says with the followership football gets across the nation, presenting the CHAN trophy just a year after the AFCON trophy was presented to the President will bring joy and happiness to all Nigerians.
“The aim of my Board and is to present the CHAN trophy to our lucky President Jonathan.
“Nigerians are so passionate about football and we pray that we are successful in South Africa because all Nigerians will lay claim to the victory and then we all will collectively give our dear President the trophy as a sign of our victory,” he said.
Maigari praised the Super Eagles, noting that they did not start very well but have been able to discover their form, urging them to make Nigerians proud come Saturday when they take on Morocco in their quarter final match.
He further reiterated the Federation’s resolve to motivate the Eagles as they forge ahead in the CHAN championship.
His words, “This is one of the teams that are very happy with the kind of motivation they have got from the Federation and we are not relenting in our efforts. We will continue to give them the best we can,” Maigari assured.
