Adu Oyinlade, of No. 75, Opomalu Road, Ilorin, appeared in an Abuja Magistrates’ Court on Friday for allegedly cheating his customer.
Police prosecutor Buba Irimiya told the court that on July 30, one Ramat Adeyemi of No. 4, Ogunlola Street, Meran, Lagos, petitioned the inspector general of police on the matter.
Irimiya said that sometime in January, the accused collected N770,000 from the complainant under the false pretence that he would supply television sets and air conditioners to her hotel.

He said the offence contravened the provision of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Emmanuel Iyana, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N800,000 and a surety in like sum.
Iyana ordered that the surety must be of a fixed address and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
He adjourned the matter to Oct. 23 for hearing.
